'Single and ready for fun' Peter Andre works off the heartache from his Elen split

His ex wife is currently dominating headlines with her very public and continuous display of affection with her 25-year-old lover.

So perhaps Peter Andre thought it was time to to steal some of the spotlight back.

The Australian singer threw on some attention-grabbing workout gear that showed off his muscular physique and set off on a jog.

His hot and sweaty exercise session was captured by photographers and, of course, his film crew, so that the workout can be broadcast on his new season of Peter Andre: The Next Chapter.

Peter, 38, is on holiday Larnaca, Cyprus, where he has a house, where he fled to last week after his amicable split from Elen Rivas.

He is enjoying a sunny break with children Junior, five, and Princess Tiaamii, three, and Katie Price's son Harvey, eight, from her relationship with Dwight Yorke.

It's certainly what his ex Katie Price has been doing - the model is ensconced in her boyfriend Leandro Penna's native Argentina while her ex has the children.

The 32-year-old has been keeping fans abreast of her romance, tweeting a series of cheesy romantic pictures of her and Leandro kissing and posing together in La Cumbrecita in Cordoba after she met his parents.

Katie recently revealed that during her marriage to Peter she had some of guards up as a result of her ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers hurting her.

She said of Bowers, whom she dated from 1998 to 2000: ‘He was the only guy who completely taught me about having your heart broken.

‘I’ve always said that Dane’s the one who did that. Because of Dane, he’s made me have my barriers up and even with Pete, I’d like to say they all went down, but there were a couple still up.’

Former WAG Elen Rivas was the first women to grow close to Peter Andre following his high-profile divorce from Katie Price.

But the Australian singer admitted he knew fairly early on it wasn't going to be happily ever after with the Spanish model.

Following their split earlier this month after five months together, Andre, 38, has spoken in depth for the first time about what went wrong.

He tells the new issue of Heat magazine: 'Elen and I never saw one another. I am so busy and so is Elen, and in my heart, I knew that the relationship was never going to step up to the next level. We weren't going to get married.

'We are better off as friends - and we are. It's amicable and I still meet up with her.

'We're mates, and if we had stayed together that could have been ruined. We never argued and if the relationship had continued, we would have started to row.'

Now single again following his 2009 divorce from Price, Andre says he's in no rush to find another wife.

He enthused: 'I'm a single man. This year is about having fun and lots of it. I'm not ready for a relationship and settling down and doing the love thing.

Andre 'keeping Rivas romance private'

Peter Andre has claimed that he and Elen Rivas want to keep their relationship private.

The singer began dating the Spanish model when they met at a dinner party in November. Writing in his New magazine column, Andre dismissed claims that Rivas is desperate to feature in his ITV2 reality series.

"We're getting on really well but it’s still early days," he said of their relationship. "There was a story in a magazine last week saying that she’s desperate to be in my reality show but that’s absolutely not true."

He added: "We're both keen to keep things away from the cameras as we want things to develop naturally and to keep our relationship private."
