The two-day long Indian Panorama Film Festival, first ever in this far-flung islands, will begin here from Today.
The event is being jointly organised by the Directorate of Information, Publicity and Tourism, Andaman and Nicbar Administration and the Directorate of Film Festival and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The film festival would be inaugurated by Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh.
''The inauguration will be followed by the screening of ‘Three of 'Us' a silent film directed by Umesh Kulkarni and also 'Ravanan' directed by Mani Ratnam,'' sources in Andaman’s Tourism Department said here today.
The Directorate of Film Festivals has provided 14 films to be screened at Port Blair, which include seven feature and seven non-feature films.
''Noted film personalities associated with the film have been invited for the festival at Port Blair. This will be an opportunity for the islanders to witness the films on big screen during the festival which is entry free for the general public,'' sources in Andaman’s Tourism Department added.
